This year War Child and the good folks at Evenko are upping the ante at Osheaga. Not only is it sure to be one of the biggest festivals of the summer but War Child has been named Osheaga 2011’s “Charity of Choice”! A portion of all ticket sale proceeds will go to support War Child. The three days – yes three days – of music will pack Jean-Drapeau Park and we are excited to see you there.

War Child will bring its signature music event, Busking for CHANGE, back to the festival for the second year. Artists who are playing the festival will be hitting the War Child Busking for CHANGE stage and crooning, old school style, with guitars and band mates. Celebrated musicians, including Hey Rosetta! Mother Mother, The Midway State, The Barr Brothers, Sweet Thing, High Dials, Joseph Arthur, Jesusfilles, Passwords and more will be Busking for CHANGE and filling donation buckets chock full of cash to support War Child.

For the full schedule and list of artists, and to make a donation or sponsor your favorite participating busker, please visit www.warchild.ca/osheaga.  The schedule and list of artists will be updated regularly. Even if you can’t attend, you can still donate!

So, how do you get involved and get in on the fun? First and foremost you’ve got to grab your tickets and head on down to festival from July 29th – 31st. Once on site, be sure to check out War Child’s booth where our amazing events team will be there to answer your questions and fill you in on who is busking when. We will also have various one-of-a-kind raffle items, including a guitar autographed by City and Colour and other exciting items signed by various participating artists, so be sure to fill out your raffle tickets.

The Osheaga experience is all about celebrating a stellar collection of the best artists from around the world in a unique outdoor setting, surrounded by trees and water. Now in its sixth year, Osheaga is the biggest festival of its kind in Canada, with three days of festivities taking place on five different stages featuring more than 90 acts. From indie to rock to hip hop to electronic and everything in-between, the full 2011 line-up for this unique Montreal summer festival can be found here: www.osheaga.com.

Special thanks to Evenko and to Sennheiser for their generous support.
